How to make pepper chicken

Pepper chicken is perfect to serve with any kind of meal, be it with dinner or lunch.., be it with rice or roti...
Apart from the fact that it’s tasty and mouth watering, Pepper chicken is very easy dish to make. This recipe needs no grinding masala, no elaborate cooking and  made with simple and basic ingredients.

   Pepper chicken has a taste and aroma that is very different from the other chicken curry recipes. All that makes this dish special is the fresh coarsely ground pepper which brings the mild heat to the dish. The quantity of red chili powder and garam masala used is less. It can be served as a starter or as an accompaniment to rice or naan or chapati. This recipe can be used to make both versions of the pepper chicken, dry and a curry or gravy.

 Ingredients

Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onion - 2 nos (chopped thinly)
Tomato - 3 nos (chopped)
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder  - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry powder - 3 tsp
Ginger -garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Salt - 1 tsp

Pepper powder - 2 tsp

For seasoning:-
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp

For garnishing :-
Coriander leaves - 3 tsp
For grinding:-
Onion - 1 no
or
Small onions - 10 nos
Garlic pods  - 2 nos

DIRECTIONS

Step 1. Mince chicken into small pieces.

Step 2. Fry onion and garlic in oil. Grind it and keep aside.

Step 3. Heat oil in a frying pan.

Step 4. Splutter mustard and fennel seeds.

Step 5. Add onion and fry until it turns golden brown.

Step 6. Add ginger-garlic paste.

Step 7. When the raw smell of ginger garlic disappears, add tomato.

Step 8. Add all the powders except pepper powder and fry for a minute.

Step 9. Add the ground masala and chicken.

Step 10. Pour less water and cover it with a lid.

Step 11. Allow it to cook for few minutes.

Step 12. Add salt.

Step 13. When the chicken is cooked fine and thick, add the pepper powder and mix well.

Step 14. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Step 15. :- Serve with chappathi, roti, naan and also with rice.
